Who’s your favourite TV chef at the moment then? I discovered Ching-He Huang doing Chinese Food Made Easy a week or so ago and she’s rapidly becoming my favourite. Nice looking food, decent ingredients but nothing too random, the occasional fact and a new catchphrase spawning.

Wok on.

BTW – we’re going for lunch on Thursday, Bleeding Heart. You’re welcome :-)

Nice one :-) I can feel a steak coming on…

Well its probably an ordinary fave, but I like Jamie Oliver (the Jamie at home series, that is) There’s no fluff, just enthused & succint delivery and I like the way he breaks from tradition in terms of how he puts things together, not overly focussing on presentation. Also – he talks about his thinking and it comes across really well because he’s totally comfortable in front of the camera.

P.S – it’s on tonight! Think I’ll watch it :-)

Beware the nuts – bit of a disgrace that a nut allergy sufferer was served ice cream with hidden nuts at the Bleeding Heart despite highlighting the allergy in 2 languages! Mildly amusing at the time but really not good had she eaten any.

Is there anything more annoyinng than bread from the supermarket (Hovis no less), going mouldy within 3 days of being bought and stored in a bread bin?!

I’ve had that before and I’ve got tired of it. In fact, I’ve developed a real distaste for Tesco multigrain and batch loaves too. Not only do they get ‘tired’ quickly, but they have very little flavour. My local baker (see today’s blog http://robin1clark.wordpress.com/2008/09/17/source-it-in-pitshanger-lane/) does great breads (clearly) and my favourite is the walnut loaf which is especially good with cheese :-) .

Giraffe. Worst meal ever. Translucent prawns, food that literally stuck in your throat and rushed service. Big fan of Fergus O’Sullivan (The londonpaper)’s new campaign where he will rate restaruants on rush factor and whether staff hassle you out so a second sitting can take place.
